April 2025 - Unexpected change
Redundancy and job loss. At the bottom of the Change curve, looking up.
April 2025 - Search for redundancy, and one of the first Podcasts you will find is from 2020 - “In your 50s? Working for a Corporate? Your career is probably Toast". I listened five years too late. To be separated from employment by the end of 2027. Unexpected, and it hit hard.

Twenty-five years in the same company with close-knit colleagues - let's say surrogate family. Paid well and had many opportunities to travel. Truth be told, I had probably stayed too long. Last year, I suddenly slammed up against the promotion ceiling - I'd reached my limit. Now, due to structural savings, I was being forced out.
Let us say that now I am at the bottom of the Change Curve, looking up. (See the Kubler Ross Change curve below). I'd supported others during organisation transformation, but it certainly feels different when it happens to you.

What to do? Delved deep, released, let go, found gratitude for times past. Accepted the way forward. Determined to make a bold transition and go for it. Writer, Coach, Entrepreneur – that’s me. Dreaming to ride the upturn, drunk on self-belief, revving up my risk tolerance. The curve says I am headed towards being a "renewed individual" - hope so.
